Montes Alpha, Apalta Vineyard, Syrah, 2006, Chile - A serious wine with brooding blackberry, cassis, blueberry, and black cherry aromas. Huge extracts of coffee, meaty, toasty smoky spice flavours. Layers of complexity with firm structured tannins and a dry dusty finish.
The Lucky Country 2007, Barossa Vale/McLaren Vale, Australia - Dark, rich wine revealing black fruits and touch of smoky spice, a classic Aussie fruit explosive wine. You could pay twice as much for an equivalent wine.
